Trifle PrintTrifle as silly as it sounds was a really strong point in my childhood, as my Granny always made it. No matter what the family occasion, whether it was someone's birthday, an anniversary or something as simple as all the family getting together on a sunday for a roast at her house, you could always count on her making a trifle.

This project acts like a memorial piece to her in a way, solidifying my memories I have of her and producing a piece of art in the process.

This piece is made up of black lino cut prints, which were taken in digitally to photoshop and procreate to colour and finally produce. This project here is where I first started to really fall in love with food illustration.

Here are the isolated black lino prints of each ingredient you need to make my Granny’s trifle, with a few utensils too!

To make the lino prints, I printed off inverted pictures of the ingredients and coloured over the top, so that the design would be imprinted onto the lino sheet. Carefully cutting and sculpting away the areas I wanted to remain white. I was left with some super cute and crisp prints!

To make her infamous strawberry trifle you have a layer of strawberry jelly, always hartleys! Followed by a layer of strawberry blancmange, then the fluffy angel topping, and lastly finished with crumbled flake!
